Karman Space & Defense Expands Production Capacity to Support Critical Pentagon Missile and UAS Programs

Karman Space & Defense announced plans to open a new manufacturing facility in the greater Salt Lake City, Utah area to expand production capacity for advanced unmanned aerial system (UAS) launcher systems and solid rocket motor (SRM) nozzles.

The new facility will quadruple launch system production capacity and double SRM composite nozzle manufacturing capacity for critical programs. The company has invested over $15 million in existing facility expansions over the past 12 months.

Karman received $5 million in Defense Production Act Title III funding, matched by $5 million company investment. The facility incorporates vertically integrated capabilities and AI-enabled manufacturing systems, with production readiness anticipated for Q4 2026.
